Smith Rock

Jamir took a new job! Which means we had a week of vacation. It went by too fast, but we were able to do a last minute camping trip to Smith Rock and the area around it. Last minute camping trips always mean things are forgotten. Like our grill. So we cooked everything on the fire. But it turned out fine and delicious. One person even walked over to us and said they were impressed that we cooked everything over the fire with a little one.
It was cold (high desert), but fun to explore a different part of Oregon. We didn't budget enough time to do all that we wanted so now we have an excuse to come back.

We did the hike behind us called "Misery Trail". It really was hard

little nervous with Ben up there

Monkey rock on left.

Steep decent

Steelhead falls. Apparently people swim at the bottom

Jamir making breakfast while Ben and I snuggle

We forgot a pillow and extra blanket for Ben. We had to buy one or the poor boy would be cold. He slept a long time the next day

Heading to Proxy Falls

Ben seems unimpressed

It's amazing how the scenery can change from desert to lush on the other side of the mountain

the trail. Looks like the trolls in Frozen

We saw this castle on the way with a great view of lava formations and mountains.

He likes his new blanket.

Top of volcano in Bend.

Sunflowers, Rafting, and Pigs

Just some pictures for the end of summer.

Our sunflowers got so big! But started to fall over. They are all dead now

tasting the petals

our chickens are annoyingly tame (they follow us around the yard)

sharing a pumpkin that got eaten by squash bugs

another watermelon! I let it stay on the vine longer and it was much sweeter

This is what I do when I run out of diapers and Jamir has the car. It didn't work

yes, we changed him at Walmart.

we found this pony for free. Ben liked it (it sings!)

Trying to make it more manly...yeah.

happy boy

last summer activity; rafting the rouge river

the first half Ben focused on eating his pancake. The second half he slept

Ben always crawls in the shower...It's a problem
