In Memory

This past Thursday marks a year since I had my first miscarriage. At least the surgery part. I don't really know which dates to actually remember; when I got pregnant, when I found out it was no longer viable, or when it actually left me, but I felt the surgery day was one of the hardest so we decided to release lanterns.  Two for both of them. I don't think anyone knows how hard it really is until they have experienced it themselves. I am not glad they happened, but I can see how the timing was off and how it has made me more resilient to deal with hard things. How people are unsympathetic and how life is not fair. I'm not bitter anymore, just more understanding of how things are. It will just make the next pregnancy that much sweeter. I am also happy for more time with just me and Jamir which I didn't realize how valuable that time is.

Also, on my walk during my break at work, I saw a butterfly. I know its kinda cheesy, but it let me get really close without flying away and I took it as a sign that Heavenly Father is aware of me and my babies in heaven.

Croquet and Petting Zoo

Friday we had a BBQ with the Lopez family. We had it at our house since we have a grassy area and a pool to play in...but unfortunately it rained like crazy so we didn't swim.  It was so windy that before I left work, several houses around us lost power.  We were still able to have the grill outside while eating inside the clubhouse at our condos. After, the weather cleared and we played croquet.

Saturday, there was a county fair in South Jordan. I just really wanted to see the animals. It reminded me of Elko's fair although just a little bigger. We took Jamir's mom. I don't think anyone is as excited to pet goats as me, but it was still fun. After, Mama Lopez took us to Chuck-A-Rama and shopping. Nice day.

Llama!

Oh you know, just a goat chilling on a tortoise

Pony! They were so funny once they find out you have food.

Baby pigs! So cute

That is a baby camel. I've never been this close to one before.

Boondocks

We had our date night on Wed this week because we knew we were doing things with Jamir's family this Friday.  Jamir's work gave us tickets to Boondocks! And the best part was they were unlimited everything and FREE! That's my kind of fun. They even came with a free sunday. They had laser tag, go carts, batting cage, 4D theater, arcade, flight simulation, and mini golf. It was really fun! We went to Gloria's Little Italy before and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. We had gotten a groupon to make the price worth it. It was actually really good because they use the "real" Italian cheese. I got butternut squash soup as a starter and it was delicious! It makes me excited for fall....but I'm not ready for summer to be over quite yet.

The beginning of mini golf. It was 10000X better than the 7 peaks one. No peeling green and the holes dont eat your balls

Thought the roses were really pretty.

So this lizard is supposed to blow fire when you make it straight on...and Jamir missed.

And me too.

Go carts, Jamir thinks of it as a competition, while I just like to ride.

I actually really like the batting cages. Its kinda addicting.

This was also addicting. Shooting the western themed characters

Thought this cat was funny. When I use the flash on my camera, all of the characters lighted up or moved...funny.

Summer Pics

Took some pics for fun. I always wanted pics with sunflowers. And I never use this dress because it is just between formal and churchy. So what better way than to take pics.

This is the Place

We finally decided to try the seven peaks in Salt Lake. It was pretty fun. The rides are raised by wooden beams and are really high so you can see the city and the golf course. It was fun because it was allll paid for and nothing came from our pockets. I am glad we got those passes, but only for water parks.

After we were going to go to Hogle zoo, but it was later and I was tired from being in the sun, so we went to This is the Place park across the street. I totally forgot that I had been there when I went on the trek, but it was fun to see again. I was mostly really excited about the petting animals there (as most of the pics are me and some animal). So it was like being in a zoo, but free! Hogle zoo will have to wait until it cools down before we try that one.

Our Picnic after the water park

Jamir getting a loan from the local bank. The banker was really friendly.

Donkey

Cow with a huge head

This poor sheep looked like it was dying

No, that pig is not pregnant, it is just fat.

Little Sabastian!!

Friday we went to La Casita. I've been wanting to go for a while since I remember going as a family when I was in high school. It was pretty good. Definitely worth the amount you pay for the food. I got the chile relleno (my fave, have to always get it) and it was pretty awesome.

Also, really proud of Jamir moment. He is doing an internship with the engineer of the year in Utah (really, named by Utah Engineering Council) working on the Mexico City temple. I really got a good one.
