A Visit to the Sahara Desert

It was a beautiful, sunny day yesterday. It feels like spring is coming very soon and it makes me happy! We decided to try out a hike we always pass on 101 called John Dellenback Dunes Trail. It was actually quite a challenge because most of the 5 mile trail is sand. TONS of it. It looks like the Sahara Desert (or what I think it looks like). We had fun playing in the sun and jumping in the sand.

I love this tree that I can see from our window. The nice old lady let us go into her yard to take a pic.

Jamir brought his football and threw it most of the way.
Hard to explain why we have colors...lets just say it was a pinterest fail. :)

Jamir's Cat and Dog, the series.
Enjoying the sun. It was actually very warm.

Part of the trail was through these hollowed out bushes. It looked like a Disney movie and we were unsuspecting victims of creatures in the forest.

Very swampy too.

So swampy that a good portion had this cool wood walk.

And we made it to the beach! Now to make it back...

Got stuck :) Must be getting old.

We are loving the warmer weather and being outside!

It's a New Year!

We had a good Christmas in Newport with the Lopez side of the family. Before we left, we had a little opening of gifts just to have something for ourselves. It was so nice to relax and be away from work for a little bit.
Jamir got sick during the holidays and is just now getting over a cough and I hurt my foot running so we haven't gotten out to explore much, but yesterday I HAD to get outside and do something. It's actually been really sunny around here lately. Yesterday not so much, but we still were able to do a little hike at Horsfall Beach Recreation Area. It was very pretty with boardwalks and sand dollars. We THINK we saw a dead sea lion but I was afraid to get too close in case we woke it up :)

Anyways, we are excited what 2015 will bring us. Can't wait for more adventures!

Jamir got piano music and a keyboard stand. I also got him a hatchet, which he had fun killing our Christmas tree with.

And cooking stuff for me. I made pumpkin donuts and they were surprisingly good!

Beach in Newport day after Christmas

The whole fam...I always feel like I'm missing someone, but that's everyone!

The drive back up to Newport for New Years. It was the prettiest sunset I've seen. It was so orange.

Happy to feel the sun on our faces.

We've driven past this guy several times and finally got our pic. Jamir loves him.

Boardwalk at Horsfall Beach

Yes we are cheesy, and we like it!

Walk around the lake.

One of my earlier presents was my new camera. It is awesome! It's small, but can do way more than my other bulky one.

4 Years!

We had a fun get away in Medford for our anniversary. It still rained, but it was surprisingly warmer than Coos Bay. We did a quick stop at the temple, ate hamburgers (of course, our favorite), spent some time in the mall (I actually like the crowds of Christmas), and walked around the quaint town of Ashland (about 20 mins south). Then in the morning we walked around Lithia Park, attended the Spanish branch, and met with Jamir's family for dinner.

It was nice to get out of the smallness of home and explore. I'm so glad to have Jamir as a wonderful, attentive and hard working husband. It was an awesome get away. Here's to many more years!

Medford Temple

We are excited that eventually we will be close to the temple!

In the cute hotel.

Downtown Ashland. The whole main street was lit up.

Yay for the mall!

Lithia Park. In the building to the left they have a Shakespeare Festival in the summer.

It was flooded like crazy!

Thought this was funny.

The land Jamir is developing right now.
