4th of July 2015

We headed to Elko for 4th of July weekend to see Cam for the first time since he came back from his mission. We also got to meet Emmy for the first time and spend some time with family. It's nice that we live only a day's drive away. We rock climbed in Lamoille canyon, ate hot dogs at the grove, rode in Dad's car in the parade and watched Elko's fireworks. Excited to see Jenna and Sam in Oct for another trip!

Cam showing me how he asks girls on a date.
I think this pose might work better.

Ready to rappel down at Lamoille.

About to do the splits
Lots of lizard friends
Go Cam go!

Happy Emmy at the grove

Ready to ride in the parade.

The horse looks concerned
Looking cool with British glasses and shirts in the parade.
Acting like celebrities.
"don't spray me!"
But sad when he stopped.
Post parade pop sickle break
Hyrum and his minion cupcakes. He didn't eat much, just liked to have one on his plate

Dad explaining about minions. Hyrum liked the stickers from everone else's shirt-he stuck it on his own.

I had a learning experience trying to capture fireworks. I will be much better next time.
Family pics before we head out.

Applegate Lake

We had a little time on Saturday to enjoy Applegate Lake after a long week. It was so nice to relax, swim, and enjoy the warm air.

Canopy courtesy of mom and dad.

Still have that canned tuna. And we aren't tired of it yet.

It was some much needed relaxation.
The water was a nice warm. We swam across to the other side...I got really tired-haven't swam in a while.

Being a boy and hitting rocks with a stick.

We stopped to visit the McKee Historic bridge on the way back. I've been wanting to see it. There is one in Eagle Point, but not as picturesque.

Beautiful view.

Prospect State Park/Rattlesnake and Roses

We have been here over a month and still have hardly seen the beautiful areas around us. We finally had a somewhat free weekend and got to hike to the waterfalls in Prospect State Park. The weather was so nice; not too warm, but warm enough to play in the water. There are wildflowers, rivers, pines, and boulders all over this area. There are more attractions farther north that we have on our bucket list too!

A few weeks ago we were able to do a little rock climbing after work at rattlesnake. It turned out to be quite scenic with a view at the top. It had so many routes! A must for avid rock climbers.

Cave like rocks make cool climbs. Too hard for us :)
Hard to show how tall it really is

On Friday we stopped at this Medford rose garden to eat pupusas. There is a sister in our branch who makes and sells them on Fridays. We are becoming regulars for our date nights.

En Viernes tenemos pupusas en un jardin de rosas a comer pupusas. Hay una hermana en nuestra rama quien hices y sells thme en viernes. Somos regulares.
It smelled so fresh!

Now called Prospect State Park. This is the map of where we hiked
Mill Creek Falls
They are always better in person than in pictures
Barr Creek Falls
Cool view

The next few are from the Avenue of the Boulders. It reminded me of the trolls in Frozen. Huge boulders everywhere. It made from really nice swimming pools and small waterfalls. We ate our lunch there.

Sad Jamir's eyes are closed. I thought he looked like a frog hanging out on the rock :)
Jamir is disgruntled here. The tuna sandwhiches got soggy. Next time I will just bring bread and tuna separately.
I thought it would be cool to try and have a splashing water pic...kinda didn't work.
Jamir says we look like baboons

Scary broken staircase

Last part of hike-Pearsony Falls

An animal was making noises in the forest. I captured this wild beast with my camera.
Pleased with himself for getting my attention. Big goof.
