Pitching our Tent

We decided to try something different for this general conference. We literally pitched our tent toward the prophet's voice (or the radio on my cell phone). It was fun to sit around the campfire and be in nature without distractions as we listened to the talks. We saw this campsite when we took our last pictures and it was perfect. We were right by the water and no one was around except for some cars that passed by. Perhaps it will become a new family tradition-depends on how ambitious we are in the future.

Excited to get there!
Usually Jamir makes the fire. I needed documented proof.

We decided to buy fresh red snapper and shrimp from the fish market and cook it. It turned out surprisingly good.

It was a beautiful evening.
See the star?
I made Jamir do this with me. I've been itching to play with long exposures for a while.
Next morning. The majority of the time we were close to the fire keeping warm.
Resourceful Jamir cuts all our firewood
Our (messy) campsite
Jamir wanted to do a "service project" and cover up inappropriate graffiti on the bunkers.
Saw a big boat heading out at high tide.
I was particularly excited about the fluffy clouds.
Yup, that is an octopus
Played a little croquet
Eating smores and listening to the priesthood session
Again playing with long exposures
The dock at different times of day
It rained in the morning and that was our que to head out
