Clogged pipes, new window, snow, and demo-ed master.

The groundhog was wrong! Winter has come, if just a little late. Our cold weather has made us stay inside to work on projects, although we were too excited about the new window that we had to install it. It makes a huge difference! I can't wait until we can finish the rest of them.

Ben has been improving in his potty training....but of course he had an accident on the rug in his room-the day the tub decided to stop draining. It had been slowly draining for a while now, so I thought the stopper was screwed up. But after several hours of the water level staying the same, we suspected there was a clog. After trying a plunger, and discovering water coming up through the master shower drain, Jamir decided to clear the pipes from below. Lucky that our pipes are all exposed and it wasn't that hard to get to. And lucky I still got to shower on my birthday. But the day Ben had an accident I couldn't rinse him in the tub. So I put Danny and Ben in the kitchen sink. Good thing it works and is large enough for both of them. Ben looks too old for that kind of thing now. The joys of owning a fixer-upper.
Also, Danny boy is walking! About 6-7 steps at a time, but he's going!

I frequently draw out my plans. This is for the master bath. I wish I would have kept the one I did for the kitchen.

very excited about the first snowfall

he dragged this over to the hill to "sled"

Danny loves to push this around

I think the trim is finally finished in this picture

playing in the tent downstairs

plans for the pantry wall in the kitchen. We are so close. We just need two cabinets

I painted the closet doors with chalkboard paint. And then I found some solid wood ones not long after to replace them, but they were fun for a few weeks.

gross. rotting wood

snow!

Sunday morning! Church was cancelled and it was a wonderful day.

plans for the yard

he really liked rolling on this box

finally got a base coat on those cabinets...unfortunately I threw away the hinges and the replacement ones from Lowes are slightly different. Arg. I need to find more. But I was sick at staring at our stuff so I taped them

a hobby they like to share is looking out windows

being tickled by older brother

the new wood doors for the closet

we found this window for 125$! So cheap and its the largest one so now just the smaller (cheaper) ones.

the plan for the flooring. I decided it would look best to use the rest of our flooring in the hallway so it doesn't look so cut off. And we got rid of the door that was there so it makes more sense.

hearth shaped pizza for Valentines

another find. We will make them into barn doors. One for the hallway closet and one for our Master bath

window progress

no going back now!

luckily it was a nice day

if only our view wasn't our neighbors junky cars...:( but the new window looks nice

got to church early, so we waited for nursery to start. I realized as I took this picture that Danny and Benji will be in nursery together

adding trim, putting blind back up

the day we took a bath in the sink because the tub was clogged

Danny didn't mind eating in the sink. The life

cleaning out the drain

we had one Olive Garden gift card left and we used it for my birthday. Benji was at a friend's but Danny came with us. He loved eating and eating. Also, the Italian donuts there are the best. We had them for Jamir's birthday and got them again because I like them so much.

chocolate cheesecake for me.

the foot sticking out

Jamir spent all day Saturday destroying this shower. They built it to last. It had plywood, chicken wire and cement, then another layer of drywall (?) and then tiles. Opening it up really made it seem possible to have a nice bathroom. Not huge, but big enough. Jamir replaced the guest bath faucet system which took him until 2:30 in the morning. We were all tired and now sick. There was also dust everywhere so we had to wash all the bedding.

he also found two dead birds in the wall. Gross. through all the wrecking, the guest shower wall had to come down a little. So now the priority is retiling!

enjoying food in each hand and sitting on Mama's lap at church

pigeons sitting on the deck staying dry...with the tile saw. It will be nice when we can give that back
