Happy Birthday Harry!

I don't know why, but I have thought about Harry Potter's birthday all month. I guess I was feeling a little nostalgic with having my car from high school back and seeing Cam's graduation. It reminds me of good memories of when I was a kid, so I was thinking about Harry Potter and how it was a big part of my child life. Also, it is an AWESOME book. That is one thing I will not part with when we move. I want to have those books in my library so our kids can read them. Not only do they have amazing writing and a deep story line, but they also teach good values, like doing what is right no matter how hard. I don't care how nerdy it is, Harry Potter is my favorite book.

Anyways, thought we would commemorate by drinking "butter beer" and having fish and chips (cream soda and frozen fish sticks...aren't we awesome?)

Tubing Provo River...Check!

We went tubing yesterday down Provo river. So fun! Jamir was like a little boy, he was so excited.  He fell in twice (his own doing, I had to hold the camera, so not gonna happen for me), and I saw an otter and a baby bat sitting on a rock. It was so beautiful because it rained just a little so the colors were vibrant. I don't know why we haven't gone before, it was so worth it!

Creepy Gorilla at tube rental place

Ready to go!

We tied our tubes together with a rope so we wouldn't get separated. Jamir had way too much fun trying to spin us.

After the first time he fell in.  Look how happy he is after falling in icy water!

Beautiful scenery.

Finished! Jamir wanted to keep going another 2 hours, but I was ok with being done.
After tubing we went rock climbing again. We both did a lot better than last week. I almost did double the climbs as last time and one really hard one (for me). Jamir is getting better at the more difficult climbs.
Sadly, while editing, my computer freaked out and deleted the good rock climbing pic, but this is a battle scar during the harder climb.
And later we took some pics. Again, it was bad day for pictures because our camera had low battery and we didn't have time to take very many, but these are a few of the ones we took.

Always wanted a pic on this bridge, but I was really hard to do since I had ten seconds to run to where we were.  I plan on taking more when we have more time and battery. Maybe in the fall.

Bucket List

We are REALLY hoping Jamir gets a good job as soon as he graduates, so we are planning our Provo activities as such. One of the things on our Provo Bucket list was going to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point. Fridays are half off, so it was worth it. Yesterday we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for 60 cent wings and bowling. I'm realizing that the "pass of all passes" on groupon deal is really only worth what we paid for it...10$ not 50$ as advertised.  The bowling alley was so old that the pins wouldn't stay up when they reset, if they would reset. Even so, I don't feel bad about the groupon because it was so cheap and still pretty fun and actually really funny.
Our eyes where too big for our stomachs...We just wanted to try all the sauces, and that wasn't even all of them!

At Scheels, I found this skunk really funny because someone had obviously been playing with it too much.

Getting used to these selfies

Our scores! Not too shabby...although remember how the pins knocked themselves down? They seemed too easy to knock over so those score may not be accurate.
The sunset was beautiful, although I just had my phone to take pics :(
I've always wanted to see these in real life. I think I did when I was little, but now I can really appreciate how awesome they are!

Reminds my of Jurassic Park. Fun Fact: The movie oversized the raptors, until they found this one in Utah that was actually the size in the movies AFTER the movie was made. So who knows what else the movie got right?

Jamir created his own dinosaur

I really want a pet dinosaur

T rex!

I thought this room was the coolest. That is a giant turtle. The one behind it is like the Loch Ness monster.

Wooly mammoth

Seeing all of these ancient bones really makes your head spin. Dinosaurs have been on the earth WAAAY longer than humans. I just hate not knowing exactly how everything fits together with the creation, but I guess that is the purpose of faith. Even if you don't believe in a superior being, it's an amazing concept that there were these huge creatures walking the earth before us.
Anyways, any ideas for my bucket list? So far I have tubing down Provo river for tomorrow and 7 Peaks in Salt Lake and Hogle Zoo next week. Anything else to do for summer or fall before we leave?

Practice!

The Chinese fortune cookie knew about our trip in August.  We thought we would do some rock climbing on Sat for practice! I forgot how bad it hurts your grip.  By the end I just couldn't hold on.  Thankfully, we will just be rappelling in Moab. Excited for vacation!!!
I'm also going to take the second fortune as a trip to Cancun :)

Jamir LOVES this.  He did twice as many walls as me and the hard ones too! I just don't have the upper body strength.

And check out this 5$ yard sale grab. I painted it white and "antiqued" it myself. If interior design was in higher demand, I think I would have totally majored in it.

Scottish Festival, Apricots and Car show

This weekend we had a busy Saturday.  We got up to Yard Sale (looking for the camping items-gotta get ready for Zions Park), Scottish Festival in Payson, picking apricots from a coworker's yard, Draper temple, Chuck-a-Rama, and car show.  We wanted to practice rock climbing for our trip, but we were too tired after the car show.  Very fun though.  I very much value the weekend since it is the only time I have to relax, but always spend it doing a million things.  That's why during the week we have to do fun things as well so it doesn't feel like I just work all the time.

Picking Apricots

I plan on making a lot of Apricot Jam and leather!

My first time doing sealings in the Draper Temple. We had met my parents at the Nissan dealership where they were getting their car serviced and everyone laughed as we drove up in our "vintage" (thats what I'm calling it) Nissan.  I love my car. I'm so happy to have it back with all its fun memories, so I'm gonna drive it till it dies.

Dad at the car show. He gets really excited about it- told us all about the new 1971 convertible he is gonna fix up for his latest project.  This is the car from "Cars"
Stud with all the cars.  I think the oldest one was from 1927. Pretty cool

They had lots of stands with Fairies and Swords. I think Jair would be in heaven.

Found Lopez in the history.  Couldn't find Steflik though. Too uncommon I guess.

Gryffindor!

The men in kilts doing "Manly games" like on Brave

Thought Cam would appreciate this.

They had Scottish Dancers with really curly wigs behind us. They were cute little girls and really good!

And....I made my first fresh cherry pie today! It turned out great.  Lot of work!

Mom would never let me hold sparklers

so I decided we would buy some and take pics:) Because I can.  It started raining so we couldn't do much, but I wanted to post them.
